libcrypt-unixcrypt-xs-perl software package provides Perl XS interface that implements crypt() function, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libcrypt-unixcrypt-xs-perl
libcrypt-unixcrypt-xs-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libcrypt-unixcrypt-xs-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libcrypt-unixcrypt-xs-perl *
You will get with libcrypt-unixcrypt-xs-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
